Eastward Bound 3 – White Sands National Monument
I asked my American grandmother if she had ever visited the White Sands National Monument. In her light Arkansas drawl she responded, “Yup. It doesn’t take too long to see that big ol’ pile of gypsum.” She wasn’t being entirely fair. It’s a really, really big pile of gypsum.
This must be what the moon feels like. It’s vast, empty, and covered in footprints. It’s fitting that NASA wanted to test the Mars rovers here.
